Obituary for Jerry Sewrook

Jerry Sewrook, age 67, died May 20, 2016. Jerry was born July 4, 1948 in Santa Fe, NM to Joan and Vic Sewrook. Jerry grew up in Japan, California, Texas, and Nevada. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with friends and family. His passion was taking care of animals and would often bring home stray dogs found on the side of the road. He moved his family from El Paso, TX to Chaparral, NM in 1981 to have a hobby farm taking care of many types of farm animals: cows, pigs, horses, chickens, etc. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carol Sewrook. Son, Vance Sewrook and grandson Chase; Daughter, Joni Milliron, son-in-law Michael Milliron and two grandsons, Jacob and Evan. Sister Bita Sewrook, Brothers Michael Anderson and Patrick Anderson, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Vince Sewrook and parents: Joan Anderson and Vic Sewrook. A Committal Service will be held at Fort Bliss National Cemetery on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in his name to the Humane Society.
